"description": "
Neutrino\n\neffective area tables for IceCube-Gen2
\n\n
This package contains tabulated neutrino effective areas for the\n\ndetector described in the Technical Design Report for the\n\nIceCube-Gen2 Neutrino Observatory.
\n\n
The effective areas are stored in a JSON file\n\n
gen2_tdr_effective_areas.json
. The top-level object\n\ncontains metadata relating to how the table was made, while effective\n\nareas are stored in the
data
object. Each element of this\n\narray is an object representing the effective area of a particular event\n\nselection (
channel
) and detector (
detector
).\n\nThe attributes of this object are:
\n\n
\n\n

detector
: the detector used (IceCube, Gen2-Optical,\n\nGen2-Radio)
\n\n

channel
: event signature for optical detection\n\n(shadowed_tracks, unshadowed_tracks, cascades, starting_tracks,\n\ndouble_cascades)
\n\n

energy
: 1-D array of bin edges in neutrino energy at\n\nthe surface of the Earth, in GeV
\n\n

cos_zenith
: 1-D array of bin edges in cosine of zenith\n\nangle of the neutrino arrival direction. At the South Pole,\n\n
cos(zenith) =~ -sin(declination)
.
\n\n

area
: 3-D array of effective areas in m^2. The\n\ndimensions are: neutrino type (anti-electron neutrino, electron\n\nneutrino, anti-muon neutrino, muon neutrino, anti-tau neutrino, tau\n\nneutrino), neutrino energy (in bins given …",
